Passed away on July 27, 2012
Maryland - Miriam Bidez Clark, 91, died on July 27, 2012 in Maryland after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Macon, GA to the late Earle Felton Bidez and Thelma Dean Calhoun Bidez, and moved to Savannah as a young girl. After graduating from Savannah High School and Armstrong Junior College she married Lloyd Elbridge Clark, Jr., of Rockland, ME. Their courtship was the subject of a chapter in Larry King's book, Love Stories of the Second World War.
Mimi was active in volunteer activities at the Telfair Academy, the Owens-Thomas House, the Froebel Circle and as a Pink Lady at Candler Hospital. She was a member of Clan Colquhoun, The Plantagenet Society, The Colonial Dames, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a long-time member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include daughters Patricia Clark of Dickerson, Maryland and Elizabeth Davis John of Morganton, Georgia; four grandchildren: Catherine Wiemer Tom of New Jersey, Joseph Oliver, III Julie of North Carolina, Catherine Nissen Steve of Evans, Georgia and Lawrence Sadler of Virginia, and four great grandchildren.
A private graveside memorial service is planned at Bonaventure Cemetery.
